CONSTANT announces an expanded practice area for emerging threats, expanding the scope of our former counterterrorism practice area.
(Torrance, CA) January 8, 2024 – Constant and Associates, Inc., a leading consulting firm specializing in emergency management, health security, and healthcare preparedness, proudly announces the expansion of its service offerings with the introduction of our emerging threats practice area.
The emerging threats practice area will expand the scope of our former counterterrorism practice area, ultimately reflecting an evolution of CONSTANT’s growing capabilities and alignment with current industry trends. This strategic move is in response to the evolving needs of our clients and the dynamic threat environment, positioning CONSTANT as a comprehensive solution provider that can help organizations prepare now to effectively manage the emergencies of tomorrow.
“As our clients navigate an increasingly complex environment, CONSTANT is poised to deliver innovative solutions and expert guidance to address the emerging challenges our clients currently face and will face in the future,” said Michelle Constant, Chief Executive Officer. “Leveraging our years of experience and deep industry knowledge, we are excited to offer a range of services designed to help organizations strategically adapt to the continuously evolving threat landscape by establishing mechanisms for integrating emerging threats into existing capacity-building efforts.”
This includes key areas such as cybersecurity, countering weapons of mass destruction (WMD), information operations, critical infrastructure protection, counterterrorism, and more.
Key features of CONSTANT’s Emerging Threats practice area include:
- Collaborative Partnerships: CONSTANT will foster partnerships with other disciplines and unconventional organizations, such as think tanks, academia, intelligence centers, and national laboratories, to strengthen capacity to respond to emerging threats. We believe building strong, long-lasting partnerships will enable our organization to address niche topics with specialized knowledge and expertise, multidisciplinary approaches, robust data and novel research findings, and the latest technologies.
- Use of Emerging and Cutting-Edge Technologies: CONSTANT will integrate the latest tools and technologies to deliver solutions to our clients that drive results. This includes, for example, leveraging our existing work with the Interagency Modeling and Atmospheric Assessment Center (IMAAC) to provide enhanced capabilities to organizations to predict paths and concentrations of CBRNE contaminants following a hazardous materials release when executing a related planning, training, or exercise effort.
- Integration of Emerging Threats into Existing Efforts: CONSTANT’s current and future work performed on hazard mitigation plans (HMPs), threat and hazard identification and risk assessments (THIRAs), stakeholder preparedness reviews (SPRs), integrated preparedness plan (IPP) processes, after action reports (AARs), exercises, plans/annexes, etc. will integrate emerging threats. This includes efforts like ensuring the cascading effects of a disaster (e.g., loss of trust in government, societal division) are referenced in AARs and evaluating plans/annexes for gaps in addressing emerging threats.
“The launch of the emerging threats practice area is a significant milestone for CONSTANT and reflects a modernization of the counterterrorism practice area,” says Michelle Constant. “It aligns with our dedication to staying ahead of industry trends and proactively seeking to execute our mission of making the world a safer place by meeting the evolving needs of our clients. We are confident that this expansion will not only benefit our current clients but also attract new clients and partners seeking innovative solutions designed to foster systemic resilience.”
