(Torrance, CA) May 8, 2023 – the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has selected CONSTANT for a contract to develop and execute a ShakeAlert Technical Engagement Implementation Plan. The USGS currently operates the ShakeAlert earthquake early warning system (EEW) for California, Oregon, and Washington. CONSTANT will craft an action plan for USGS to implement to strengthen engagement with key technical sectors and partners and will update the ShakeAlert Technical Partner Recruitment toolkit.
“We are excited and privileged to have the opportunity to support USGS in its critical mission of expanding the technical engagement network for the ShakeAlert EEW. As a firm with west coast roots and experience with earthquakes as community members and responders, we look forward to providing valuable engagement support and program assistance and continuing to execute projects that have a profound impact on saving lives and protecting the nation’s key resources,” said Michelle Constant, MBA, CEO of Constant Associates.
