Sloan Grissom is an Associate at Constant Associates with impressive experience across a wide range of disciplines. Ms. Grissom holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia and a Master of Public Health in Global Disaster Management, Humanitarian Relief, and Homeland Security from the University of South Florida. Ms. Grissom is a trailblazer in the field of disaster management and homeland security, having spent time in Israel training on suicide bomber interdiction, intelligence gathering, counterterrorism, and emergency response and having published groundbreaking research on countering violent extremism. Ms. Grissom has special interest in countering weapons of mass destruction and has conducted research, developed trainings, and implemented programs across the spectrum of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive threats.
Ms. Grissom began her career in disaster management working for the Port of Long Beach Security Division where she focused on critical infrastructure protection. Having provided feedback on the California Office of Emergency Services Homeland Security Strategy as well as the United States Coast Guard Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular on Cybersecurity on behalf of the Port of Long Beach and having developed multiple plans and policies including the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management Resource Management Annex and the City of Long Beach Mass Notification Policy through CONSTANT, Ms. Grissom is an expert in policy analysis and development.
Additionally, Ms. Grissom is well versed in the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program, having designed, facilitated, and evaluated numerous tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises. For instance, Ms. Grissom worked with the United States Coast Guard to plan their Annual Maritime Security Training and Exercise Program full-scale exercise, the Naval Post Graduate School for Homeland Defense and Security to conduct an executive-level seminar focused on the balance between economic continuity and emergency response, as well as the City of Los Angeles to hold a functional exercise surrounding a Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack.
