SkillBridge Intern (100% Remote) – Emergency Management/Public Health*This opportunity is open only to Active Duty Military separating or transitioning service members during the last 180 days of their service commitment and for select groups of the National Guard and the Reserves. Applicants must have command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.*CONSTANT is seeking SkillBridge Interns with a passion for disaster and crisis management. At CONSTANT, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that involve everything from full-scale bioterrorism exercises to writing mass evacuation plans to creating response training for active shooter incidents. We understand that there are a lot of details to manage when you are separating and/or retiring from the military and we will work with you to take care of and finish your military obligations.This Is What You’ll DoOur SkillBridge Internship Program is built for mission and team-oriented individuals who are ready to use their military training and education in the areas of health security, emergency management, healthcare preparedness, and counterterrorism to gain hands-on experience in the civilian sector. After your initial orientation and training, you’ll be thrown into the trenches in support of multiple projects while receiving mentorship from your supervisor and project teammates. As your expertise and proficiency grow, you’ll have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and more challenging work. Lastly, as practicable, CONSTANT will help to facilitate your interests in attending relevant professional training. SkillBridge Interns who successfully complete the internship in good standing will receive letters of recommendation, access to our professional network of industry professionals, and assistance developing further professional opportunities including early notification of short and long-term work opportunities with CONSTANT. Many of our SkillBridge interns have gone on to become full-time team members with our team. SkillBridge Internship Focus AreasCONSTANT is currently accepting applications for SkillBridge interns with experience and expertise in the following areas:Emergency and Disaster ManagementPublic HealthCrisis CommunicationQualificationsDemonstrated experience and/or expertise with plan writing and exercise design are a bonus.We do a lot of work in the Health Security space, so bonus if you have disaster public health/healthcare experience (but not required).We work in both diverse environments, but we all speak the same language: readiness. It’s critical that you have “native” fluency and knowledge in most or all of the following concepts: ICS, NIMS/SEMS, HSEEP, CPG 101, CPG 201, and natural and human-made hazards. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
