Job Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Exercise Planner to support a national mission based in Seattle, WA. Your experience in exercise planning and/or disaster response across the Western states and expertise in the Homeland Security Exercises and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) background is essential. You will be involved in the planning, developing, coordinating and execution of all levels of exercise events (seminars, workshops, tabletops, games, drills, functional and full-scale) and reporting the findings/results from every exercise executed. This is a full-time employment position.

Required Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan for realistic, challenging, and relevant exercise scenarios that meet strategic and operational exercise objectives for state, local, territorial, tribal, federal, and international stakeholders
  • Must have the ability to gather and analyze facts, able to draw conclusions, and conduct analysis
  • Advise on recommended solutions and package the entire process into briefings or reports suitable for executive-level leadership
  • Support the full scope of exercise conduct: Seminars/Workshops, Tabletop Exercises (TTX), Functional Exercises (FE) and Full-Scale Exercises (FSE)
  • Ability to lead and being self-sufficient whilst also working with teams of different scales
  • High level of written and spoken English skills
  • Candidates must have strong oral and written communications skills
  • Able to facilitate meetings and communication with high level stakeholder groups
  • Ability to produce results in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet iterative deadlines
  • Highly professional, approachable, and knowledgeable
  • Strong ability to schedule, announce, plan, coordinate and execute large-scale, dynamic planning conferences, work group meetings, interim progress reviews, teleconferences and both secure and unclassified video-teleconferences
  • Must have the ability to work autonomously and with virtual teams

Must have:

  • HSEEP training and experience
  • Design, planning, and conduct experience for large scale exercises
  • 5+ years of experience in exercise planning or equivalent

 Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Cyber security and understanding of the various types of cyber threats and attack vectors
  • Ideally, TS/SCI security clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Salary & Benefits:

  • $90,000 to $110,000 commensurate with experience
