Kate Powers is an Analyst with Constant Associates. She holds a B.A. in Global Studies and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Southern California. At USC, Kate focused her coursework on homeland security and emergency management, rounding out her degree with a semester-long capstone project on community resiliency-building in the San Fernando Valley on behalf of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Kate also served as the Co-President of the Homeland Security Student Organization (HSSO) at USC, an organization that experienced significant growth, revitalization, and clarity of vision under her leadership. In 2018, Kate was awarded the Women in Homeland Security (WHS) SoCal Trailblazer Award, highlighting her exceptional performance early on in the fields of homeland security and emergency management as well as her enthusiasm and dedication to this sector. Before working for CONSTANT, Kate served as an intern for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), an extern for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), and a fundraising and development specialist for several Los Angeles-based non-profit organizations.
