Intern (Emergency Management/Public Health)

This is a fully remote position. Preferred location is in the Los Angeles, CA area but is not required.CONSTANT is hiring paid interns to provide support for its emergency management and public health projects, internal initiatives, and administrative tasks. This position provides exposure to consulting and the projects by which private and public organizations prepare for, manage, and learn from disasters. Projects can involve plan or policy writing, exercise design and conduct, training development and delivery, after-action analysis, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or entry-level professional interested in building diverse and applied experience in the field of emergency management, public health, and homeland security while learning from a rapidly growing company.Your ResponsibilitiesSupport client-facing projects with research, writing, editing, design, logistics coordination, outreach, and meeting facilitation support tasks as assigned (approximately 50% – 75% of time)Conduct administrative tasks as assignedAttend company and project meetings and complete training courses as assignedDedicated to a reliable schedule of a minimum of 20 hours/week for approximately six months starting Fall 2022Candidate QualificationsPreferred – Master’s degree, or current enrollment in a degree programPreferred – Prior experience. Experience in a field related to public health or emergency management is a bonusProficient with Microsoft Office – possessing advanced knowledge/experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Experience building document templates in Word and PowerPoint is helpful. Skill with Adobe products, WordPress, graphic design, or GIS is a bonusAbility to comfortably work in a remote, work from home settingStrong writing, formatting, note-taking, and verbal communication skills – you will be asked to provide a successful writing exampleSelf-motivated, positive demeanor, and works well with othersWell organized and adept at assessing, prioritizing, and shifting between tasks.
