The Instructional Designer/Curriculum Developer is responsible for designing and developing new components of the curriculum as well as evaluating and making modifications to existing components.The person in this role should be passionate about developing innovative learning solutions that are results-based, learner centered and meet learning and program objectives.These positions will be contingent upon contract award, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.This Is What You’ll DoIn your new position, you will support course design from inception to final product of external training courses, specifically applying the principles of adult learning design for both synchronous and asynchronous (e.g. online courses) learning. Additionally, you will administer the enterprise learning management system (LMS) including user management and usage reporting as required. Most importantly, every CONSTANT team member is expected to proactively contribute to our positive, team-oriented culture and uphold our core values of integrity, service, quality, team, and gratitude.Examples of other contributions include:Update and maintain existing course content in the LMS.Manage small- and large-scale instructional design projects.Apply pedagogical/andragogical principles and learning theories to create engaging course designs.Conduct regular internal reviews of course content to ensure accuracy and relevance.Work closely with all departments to understand training goals and needs and develop plans address.Perform targeted user outreach to LMS learners for feedback on their experience with the learning content.Lead and attend regular solution meetings to remain informed of upcoming enhancements and features.Recommend process improvements to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Assist with review and internal reporting of with a focus on identifying customer training opportunities.Develop and guide the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, manuals including print, digital, video, audio and web formats as required, using appropriate equipment and software.Ensure content is in alignment with organization goals.Provide ongoing feedback to users and management regarding the health and overall wellness of the system, effective use, and associated external-facing training content.Seek ongoing training opportunities to maintain system understanding of new features and functionality.Support architectural updates to the system, and participate in testing and/or validation activities, as needed.Qualifications and SkillsRequiredExperienced Instructional System Designer/Curriculum Developer5+ years of instructional design experience5+ years of experience developing curriculumExperience developing learning content for in-person, virtual, blended and mobile delivery modelsExpertise in creating or modifying learning content and approaches to meet identified needs. Skilled at designing learning materials using Adobe InDesign, the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator), and Microsoft PowerPointExperience developing eLearning modules using course authoring software such as Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise 360 Experience with designing accessible learning content and materials (section 508, closed captions, etc.)Proficient using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite Proficient in course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and or Articulate Rise 360 Strong project management skillsMust have at least 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree, 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Instructional Design, Educational/Instructional Technology/Adult Learning, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
