The Curriculum Developers should have the expertise and experience to design and prepare courses for educational programs, including resident, distance learning, and blended-learning formats. These positions will be contingent upon contract award, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.This Is What You’ll DoIn your new position, you will support the design and development of training courses and associated materials using the Human Performance Technology (HPT), Accomplishment Based Curriculum Development (ABCD), and the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology. These courses will be in adherence to the USCG Training Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and C5ISC standards including but not limited to text, audio, video, and technology-based media. Some of these assigned tasks will be performed in collaboration with the contracting officer’s representative (COR) and some will be executed single-handedly. Most importantly, every CONSTANT team member is expected to proactively contribute to our positive, team-oriented culture and uphold our core values of integrity, service, quality, team, and gratitude.Examples of other contributions include:Collaborate with the COR to perform assigned tasks or execute single-handedly the development of relevant research and development projects, including but not limited to instructional research and developmentAssist with developing models that reflect “best practices” experience in Washington and around the world and encourage the wider use of innovative training models, e.g., distance learning, multimedia learning systems, guided self-study, coaching, and tutoring.Collaborate with the COR to incorporate innovative materials and practices to address various learning styles and needs, build skills in learning strategies, and promote continual learning after training completionAssist the COR and others with the development and delivery of relevant in-service staff development, orientation activities, and training projects designed to build skills in effective materials development and classroom implementationCollaborate with the COR to assist with drafting all required documents in the curriculum development project approval process as well as provide status updates on approved projects on requestAdhere to all copyright guidelines and restrictions, follow USCG training activities procedures regarding copyright, and track compliance for assigned development project(s)Qualification and SkillsRequiredApplicants considered for the Junior category have up to 3 years’ experience in curriculum development and design and a BA/BS degree. Assists more senior positions and/or performs functional duties under the oversight of more senior positionsApplicants considered for the Journeyman category have 4 or more years’ experience in curriculum development and design and a BA/BS degree or MA/MS degree.
