Over the past several years, emergency planners at all levels of government have begun to recognize and act upon the need for integrated, structured utilization of volunteers as part of a comprehensive approach to emergency preparedness and management. Numerous volunteer pools and organizations can be made available to surge and provide much needed services if called upon. C&A’s experience with a multitude of disaster volunteer organizations has helped clients to identify ways to leverage the support and expertise provided by volunteers, while creating an environment that promotes and maintains a managed, organized setting for volunteers.
